EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – CUSTOMER SUPPORT SPECALIST (MINI SPLIT CLEANER)

Harvey’s Oil Ltd. is a market leader in both the home heat and industrial/commercial lubricant industry in Newfoundland and Labrador and is now a part of the local mini-split business in the community. Through the company’s partnership with Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc., Harvey’s Oil Ltd. has experienced significant growth in its industrial lubricant, light and base oil division while maintaining its customer service focus in home heat. Specifically, the lubricants division sells to the fishing, offshore, mining, manufacturing, construction, food and automotive industry.

THE ROLE
Harvey’s Oil Ltd. has an opening for a full time, contract position of a Customer Support Specialist (Mini Split Cleaner). This contract will be one (1) year in length. The Customer Support Specialist (Mini Split Cleaner) will work closely with team members and customers to complete cleanings and assessments on ductless mini-split systems daily.
Specific responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist in performing regular maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, inspecting ducts, and checking refrigerant levels.
• Help diagnose HVAC system issues, including temperature discrepancies, airflow problems, and mechanical failures.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools like refrigerant leak detectors, pressure gauges, and multimeters to troubleshoot system problems.
• General assessment of mini-split system and components
• Provide feedback of assessment to Harvey’s mini-split division for review
• Provide excellent customer experience in cleaning ductless mini-split systems
• Ensure safe and courteous service while assisting technicians in the field.
• Learn how to explain basic HVAC system operations and maintenance needs to customers.
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations, including refrigerant handling and disposal
• Complete detailed service reports, including maintenance logs, parts replaced, and recommendations for future work.
• Ensure that all work complies with Harvey’s Home Heating’s Policies & Safe Work Procedures
• Participate in ongoing training to stay updated with the latest HVAC technologies and standards.
• Various other duties as required
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have the following:
• HVAC maintenance or installation experience is an asset.
• HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trade or other relevant trade experience is an asset.
• High School Diploma
• Valid driver’s license.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Effective computer knowledge including MS office 365
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Good problem-solving skills to assist in diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and coworkers.
• Meet physical requirements of the job.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and under the supervision of experienced professionals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitask environment
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule based on business
